Skilled.
Playful.
Embodied.
As a teacher, Marlie specializes in working with singers and actively working film and television actors, supporting sustainable voice use, vocal stamina, and expressive clarity for professional performance demands. Trained in the Connection Method, her coaching is grounded in an approach that connects body, breath, and expression.
Since 2015, Marlie has taught private voice lessons and joined the Sarah McLachlan School of Music as a full-time instructor in 2016. Her teaching is shaped by extensive stage experience and a deep understanding of the voice as both a physical and emotional instrument. She excels at translating classical and contemporary technique into practical, embodied tools performers can use across pop, soul, rock, musical theatre, and screen work.
At Chorus Studio, Marlie works as a voice and performance coach, supporting singers who want to feel more confident, present, and authentic onstage. Her sessions are focused, playful, and honest, creating a space where singers feel safe to take risks, refine their craft, and show up fully as themselves.

What I Wish Every Singer Knew
That you CAN sing! I wish more singers understood how much mindset can have an impact on singing. Even when you’re sick—or you think you can’t reach that high note—your voice might not always be at 100%, but you can do way more than you think.
Why I Teach
It's a part of me and it's who I am. Singing has given me so much opportunity and adventure. The singing voice holds a deep and resonant power; the ability to connect to your heart and to the people around you. To lift someone up, make them laugh, or even bring them to tears is such a beautiful experience. I teach voice because I want others to feel that connection—to give them proper technique so they can expand their range and sing with freedom, control, healthy habits, and without fear. Now, add singing in harmony with movement, and well… you just might be unstoppable.
