Rachel Wong

Rachel Wong (she/her) was Co-Founder of Chorus Studio, where her calm clarity, extraordinary thoughtfulness, and remarkable organizational mind helped shape the studio from its earliest days.

Rachel and Rebecca were best friends who shared a dream of building Chorus Studio, and together, they made it real.

Rachel believed in Rebecca’s vision before Chorus Studio was fully formed. She built the logistics, systems, and structure that transformed one choir into a thriving studio, bringing order and possibility to ambitious ideas and helping create the foundation on which Chorus continues to grow.

She was an accomplished pianist with A.R.C.T. diplomas in both Piano Performance and Teaching, and a committed vocalist for over 18 years. She studied voice with Chorus Studio founder Rebecca Lam Kania and performed as a featured soloist with YVR Pop Choir and B-Roll. Her experience as both a pianist and vocalist gave her a unique insight into the needs of singers and educators alike.

But Rachel’s impact on Chorus Studio extended far beyond what she built.

Calm.
Thoughtful.
Steadfast.

She was an exceptionally thoughtful observer and listener: quiet, perceptive, precise, and deeply attentive to people. She brought care and integrity to decisions, saw details others missed, and had a remarkable ability to bring clarity to complexity. She never needed to be the loudest person in the room to profoundly shape it.

Rachel passed away in July 2026 after living courageously with cancer. Her loss is immeasurable to the people who loved her and to the community she helped build.

Her legacy lives throughout Chorus Studio — in its systems and values, in its commitment to people, and in the countless decisions and structures that still bear her influence. Most of all, it lives in the people she believed in and the community she helped make possible.

Rachel was Chorus Studio’s #1 champion from day one. She always will be.

Rachel Chose Music

During her journey with cancer, Rachel was supported by Forward Foundation, an organization that creates meaningful experiences of connection for young adults living with serious, life-limiting illness. When Rachel was invited to choose an experience that mattered to her, she chose to make music with the people she loved.

Together with her Chorus Studio family, Rachel recorded “Not Givin’ Up” by The Kingdom Choir, an anthem that held special meaning for her throughout her journey.
