LOCATION
Chorus Studio is located at 2468 Scotia Street in Vancouver, BC. We're proud to be situated in the heart of the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, a creative cultural hub with a plethora of murals, bike shops and breweries to enjoy before or after your studio visit.
Chorus Studio is easily accessible by transit, bike or car. Street parking is available next to the studio, as well as throughout the neighbouring streets. We're located near bus stops for the #8 Fraser/Downtown, #9 Alma/Commercial-Broadway, and #99 Commercial-Broadway/UBC (B-Line) busses. We are also a short 10-minute walk from the Broadway-City Hall Canada Line Station.
FACILITIES
Our 2500+ square feet studio is equipped with an updated HVAC system (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) that uses fresh air from outdoors to provide high indoor air quality and a comfortable temperature for our singers all year long.
Chorus Studio is outfitted with state-of-the-art sound equipment to provide our singers with amplification that feature higher vocal projection and clarity, consistent coverage and tonal balance throughout our performance room. Whether we are rehearsing our choirs, featuring a concert by a local musician or band, or hosting our monthly Open Mic Night, performers and audience members of the Chorus Studio community can count on an exceptional auditory experience. Our private lesson rooms are spacious yet intimate and equipped with industry standard microphones, monitors, digital pianos and a variety of guitars. Students are encouraged to practice with amplification when preparing for performances to further their learning of microphone technique and sound equipment.
ACCESSIBILITY
At Chorus Studio, we strive to make our space accessible to people of all shapes, sizes and abilities. Our unit is not at street level. From the front entrance, there are 10 standard height steps leading down to the studio. There are handrails beside the staircase. Chairs at the studio have an 880 lb. capacity.
WHEELCHAIR / MOBILITY SCOOTER / MOBILITY RESTRICTED ACCESS
The accessible entrance is through the back alley of 2468 Scotia and has two non-automatic doors which are monitored during office hours if assistance is required. The access ramp is free of stairs and steps. To enter, please call our office at (604) 871 - 0100 and one of our staff will promptly meet you out back and escort you into the studio.
BATHROOM ACCESS
Our non-binary bathroom has a toilet that is lower than most and equipped with handrails. The bathroom sink is at an accessible height with room for wheelchair users. Our bathroom is spacious and easy to maneuver. A baby/child changing table is available for parents and their children.
